My Story & My Approach
Meet Lauren Haas
As an adoptee and the author of the children's book, "A Heart That Holds It All", I understand firsthand both the joys and the challenges that adoption can bring. My passion is to support adoptees and their families as they navigate the complexities of adoption, identity, and belonging.
Professional Background
I currently serve as an elementary school counselor in Central Oregon, with two years of experience supporting children and their families. My approach is warm, creative, and collaborative. I believe healing and growth happen in relationships, and I strive to create a safe, affirming space for every child and family I meet.
My Approach
Drawing from Relational Cultural Theory and Solution-Focused Therapy, I tailor my work to each child’s unique strengths and needs. I love integrating art-based interventions to help children express themselves, process their stories, and build resilience. I'm also EMDR-trained and use trauma-informed practices to support healing and emotional regulation.
